  • February 2013: SJTP&A congratulates one of the firms founding members, Attorney Gil Johnson for over 50 years of service and professionalism within the practice of law. After serving as a Lake County Assistant State's Attorney. Gil joined the firm as a partner with John Soffietti in 1965. Gil is scheduled to be honored for 50 years in the practice of law by the Lake County Bar Association on February 22, 2013, at the President's Award Dinner at the MARRIOTT LINCOLNSHIRE RESORT, 10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire, IL.
  • January 21, 2013: SJTP& A is pleased to announce that Attorney David J. Bawcum, LTD has been named as a Junior Partner by the firm's Managing Partners. Mr. Bawcum, LTD, who has been with the firm since May of 2006, manages the Firm's Worker's Compensation Practice and is also a member of the Firm's Personal Injury, Bankruptcy and Commercial Litigation team.

  • SJTP& A celebrates its 53rd year as Village Attorneys and Prosecutors for the Village of Fox Lake. The Firm was first appointed by the Village in 1956. The Firm's Managing Partner Howard R. Teegen is the Village Attorney.
  • SJTP&A Attorneys recently settled a wrongful death action in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois for $2.86 million dollars on behalf the estate of a North Chicago man was killed while riding as a passenger in a vehicle that was struck in congested traffic on the I-94 Edens Spur by a tractor-trailer whose breaks were defective.

  • May '09: SJTP& A celebrates its 26 th and 28 th year as the respective Village Attorneys and Prosecutors for the Village of Fox Lake and Village of Lindenhurst. The Firm was first appointed by the Village in May '81. The Firm's Managing Partner Howard R. Teegen is the Village Attorney.

  • SJTP&A Attorneys recently settled a personal injury suit for $1,250,000.00 million on behalf of a 72 year old male motorcyclist hit by a car injuring his head, neck and back.
  • SJTP&A Attorneys recently settled in a pre-suit mediation, a Wisconsin Wrongful Death Lawsuit for $500,000.00 on behalf of the Estate of Minor girl who died while in the care of a State Boarding School. The settlement, in light of the case's potential medical malpractice liability component, was the maximum amount recoverable as a consequence of the State of Wisconsin's statutory monetary limits for such Medical Malpractice suits.
  • January 1, 2009: SJTP& A is pleased to announce that Junior Partner Julio C. Argueta has been named a full Equity Partner by the firm's Managing Partners. Mr. Argueta, who has been with the firm since 2003 and as a Junior Partner since 2005, manages the Firm's Criminal Defense team and it's Waukegan Office.

  • 2008: SJTP& A Partner and Alum, the Honorable Jorge Ortiz, has been elevated by the Illinois Supreme Court to Circuit Judge for the Circuit Court of Lake County, Illinois. Judge Ortiz, appointed in 2002, is the Circuit Court of Lake County's first appointed Latino Judge. http://judgeortiz.com/
